IT Specialities & Their $alaries

Before even starting to write down salaries let me give you a brief overview about IT and its specialties. IT is a broad term and unlike many people think does not mean only writing a computer program. IT as defined by information technology association of America, is the study, design, development, implementation, support or management of computer-based information systems, particularly software applications and computer hardware. Information systems refers to a group or a system, of people, activities and data records in an organization that process the information. And when i say process I mean convert, store, protect, transmit, and securely retrieve the information. As you would have noticed in the definition of IT, it says particularly software applications and computer hardware. Thats why role of software engineer becomes so important because a Software engineers focuses on designing and developing computer software to meet the needs of the rapidly growing population of computer users (personal and in an organization) worldwide. (Phew!! was that too much technical info?!!). In addition to being one of the fastest-growing careers in the nation, this profession lends itself to telecommuting (work from home would be a simpler term!), an added perk if you don't want to leave home to find a higher-paying position.
