Engineer Salaries rise in CANADA

According to a survey report published in Vancouver Sun : Tech specialists covering career ranges from software engineers to animators to marketers saw a salary increase of 4.5 percent in British Columbia, Canada (Home of Vancouver 2010 olympic and paralympic games) almost a percentage point more than the average increase in Canada. The survey, conducted by HR tech group in association with Watson Wyatt Data services found a growing shortage of talent and estimated that 10,000 more jobs might be added if the expansion plans are actually carried out. The talent shortage has lead to an increase of salaries of Intermediate level manufacturing engineer by 8.3 percent to reach an average of 72,000 canadian dollars.
Entry level software engineers averaged $50,800 plus $2,800 in bonus pay.
Senior lead engineers averaged 86,700 plus $8,800 in bonus pay.
