- Tech pros in Silicon Valley continue to cash in with the highest salaries ($93,876) and the highest percentage increase.
- Boston along with Atlanta is the second highest paid metro area ($83,465) and has the second largest salary increase.
- Baltimore/Washington, D.C., came in third ($81,750),
- Los Angeles ($81,039) and New York ($80,770) rounded out the top five highest paying tech cities.
- Conversely, Phoenix and San Diego saw the largest declines (5.0 percent and 4.3 percent respectively). Both cities saw large increases last year.
- IT managers with good experience (age: more than 40 years) enjoyed the highest salary increase along with MIS managers and Project managers.
- The increase in average salaries was more in Government sector than in Banking/Financial sector.
- Unfortunately, there was a gender bias as men's salaries reported a growth but women's salaries did not.
- Lastly and most importantly, sometimes even if the salaries increase it does not seem to make people happy because they end up spending almost everything they earned at this is a time of inflation and in general, recession in US economy. But amazingly survey reported that more than 50 percent of IT professionals are happy with their salaries.
